A 60 year old male patient reported to the OPD with the complaint of pain in lower left first mandibular molar for 3 days. The pain was continuous, dull and radiated to the ipsilateral jaw and ear, it aggravated on chewing and was relieved by analgesics. He was a known diabetic and hypotensive and was on medication. Patient was habitual of betel quid and smoking since a long time. Past dental history showed a partial denture on lower anteriors.
