ABSTRACT

The considerable increase in incidence of hypertension and threat of its complication, the need emerged to know about the awareness regarding the complications of hypertension among the individuals suffered from this. The objective of the study was to calculate the magnitude of complication and to identify the most common complication of hypertension. For this purpose data was collected randomly form 50 hypertensive patients from different localities of Karachi. The result showed that ANGINA is the most common complication of hypertension, that is 11 (36.6%) while the subsequent complications were eye problems, Myocardial infarction and Renal failure Hypertension is common among obese and average built people. It is also common among people having stressful life style. It is recommended to such individuals to cut down their salt intake, start doing exercises and try to stay calm and relaxed
