ABSTRACT
The term viral haemorrhagic fever (VHF) is used to describe a spectrum of illness ranging from fever with minor evidence of haemorrhagic disease to a syndrome of fever and severe shock, culminating in death. VHF may be caused by any one of a number of viral agents. The agents included in Bunyaviridae family are Rift Valley fever (Phlebovirus genus) virus (by Mosquitoes), Hanta (Hantavirus genus) virus (by rodent saliva & urine) which includes Korean or Epidemic HF virus; Eastern European HF virus; Nephropathia Epidemia; Rat borne; Hantaan virus; Dobrava-Belgrade; Puumula virus; Seoul virus, Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic fever (Nairovirus genus) virus by (Ticks) and Hazara virus is Pakistan variant of CCHF virus by (Ticks). The agents included in Flaviviridae are Dengue virus DEN (1-4) viruses (by Mosquitoes Aedes aegypti), Yellow fever virus (by Mosquitoes Aedes aegypti) and Kyasanur Forest disease virus by (Ticks). Viruses present in Filoviridae family are Marburg virus (Person to person, rodents natural host?) and Ebola virus (Person to person, rodents natural host?). Arenavirus family viruses are Lassa virus (Contact Infected Rodents urine & excreta, person to person by nosocomial outbreaks), Machupo virus (same as Lassa virus, but no from person to person transmission), Junin virus (same as Lassa virus, but not from person to person transmission) and Suanarito virus (same as Lassa virus, but no from person to person). Togaviridae family has only one virus causing Omsk (Must rat ticks) and some scientist include this virus into Flaviviridae family.
