The new taxonomy for SARS virus is Nidovirale, Conaviridae, Coronavirus and SARSCoV. The corona virus is single stranded RNA (ssRNA) virus with negative sense, envelope spherical, pleomorphic with helical symmetry and size 60-80 nm. This virus is less infective than influenza virus yet it creates panic or havoc in epidemic area or zone as well as rest of the world. Respiratory tract infection effect over all 3.9 millions individuals, SARS suspect 1,678,000 and only 8,393 are SARS cases. The mortality is around 184 (15%). Some authors claim case fatality rate is from 4-50%.
The mode of transmission is not known exactly but it is said that virus to be transmitted by faeco-oral route probably not by droplet. Human to human transmission is close contact. This virus is known to present in saliva, blood, urine and faeces of infected individuals.
