PREVALENCE OF DENTAL CARIES EXPERIENCE AMONG SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN IN KARACHI

ABSTRACT

Objective: To find out the 'Prevalence of Dental Caries Experience 'among school going children. To compare the difference between male and female restorative care.

Material & Methods: The Cross-sectional study comprised of school going children aged 9 to 18 years in Karachi, Pakistan. 327 subjects including 186 males and 141 females participated in the study. Results: The results of the study showed that the prevalence of dental caries among chidren were 39.4%.

Conclusion: The DMF among study subjects is found to be 5, so there is increased number of school going children have dental caries experience and no significant difference was found to be among male and female need of dental care.
