NEW AND ESTABLISHED THERAPIES OF CHRONIC HEPATITIS B

ABSTRACT
Chronic Hepatitis B is a major health problem all over the world. About 350 million people of the whole world population are affected by this disease1.
The main aim of the treatment is to achieve cure in the shortest possible time and with minimum side effects and having less chances of developing a mutant virus during the course of the disease2. The treatment of chronic Hepatitis B has shown a lot of advancement in the form of IFN, Pegylated IFN, Lamivudine, Adefovir, Dipivoxil, Telbivudine etc. Molecular therapies which act on different stages of the life cycle of Hepatitis B virus may be the future strategy3.
We are going to summarize the overall view of current and upcoming therapies of Hepatitis B and their limitations and efficiency. (Continued...)
